Applications

  • Fast product development cycles by flashing a new gateway table without replacing it in the dealer’s garage and without modification of an already qualified gateway firmware.

  • Download of the binary data file to the UGW flash memory. The header file can be compiled as part of the gateway firmware in early stages of development.

  • Integrity and consistency checks of the gateway table allow the identification of configuration problems in an easy manner.

  • Define your own conversion rules by easily importing common message and signal definition formats like DCB and FIBEX.

  • Take advantage of the support and experience of K2L as one of the leading development specialist of gateway software for the automotive industry.

  • Experience all powerful features of UGW by using the ready made K2L stand-alone gateway device Automotive Bus Converter (ABC).

ECU Development

Development Time Reduction

Due to the intensive communication with other devices and the requirement of robust behavior even in the case of communication failures the software development of MOST® connected devices is a complex task. With K2L tools and software components the complexity of the application and the necessary coding work can be reduced significantly.

Devices containing Gateway Functions

In highly interconnected networks signals transfered between buses are routed by gateways. Often these gateways are not stand-alone devices but contain other applications. The K2L Universal Gateway and the related framework allow to easily add applications with an identical application programming interface (API) even on cascaded CPUs.

Connect Applications to MOST

ECUs connected to the MOST bus are often more complicated than other automotive devices without MOST. This is no result from MOST, but from the fact, that MOST devices are often part of a multi-media system and contain many additional functionalities and technologies. The SMSC NetServices can be used as a starting point for small devices, larger ECUs running on dynamic operating systems like Windows CE need an abstraction of the call-back-function approach of the NetServices and and an infrastructure middleware for a MOST-like communication between different applications running in multi-threaded environments. K2L offers these abstraction code for several operating systems and CPU families.
